I had the feeling that I could’ve been anyone Sinking deeper through the woods of myself Not all who wonder are lost But I feel that way Hurtling myself into the unknown again What we perceive is a reflection And a mirror’s just one version of the truth Your arm’s gonna get tired From doing all the reaching that you do Not gonna live long But you will be a legend You will be a legend Uploading to the cloud See you some other time See you in heaven The spirit moves me But I ain’t goin’ anywhere I’m not tired Just recharging my energy A gentle shift in tone Angels in the stratosphere Sliding forward into my oblivion What we perceive is a reflection And a mirror’s just one version of the truth Your arm’s gonna get tired From doing all the reaching that you do Not gonna live long But you will be a legend You will be a legend Uploading to the cloud See you some other time See you in heaven Not gonna live forever Yeah yeah Ooh ooh Not gonna live forever

Dark Edges 03:12
Hounds of lust Just a cry for help Knots like ties Said on lovers’ tongues Forget where we left off Burn it to the ground These stomach pangs All twisting around Acid burns the worry of yesterday Acid turns the stomach I’m fading away All these dark times Just rebuilding strength A life without questions Forging another path You really think It’s smarter to pretend You’re better now You’re better off Goin’ in deep to heal Dark edges You’re better now You’re better off Just burn it down Yeah cut your loss You’re better than You’re better than You’ve ever been You’ve ever been Where we left off At least you tried Ill conceived Changed with the seasons Devil’s in the details, Listen to the sound Pain can be your friend, That’s what I’ve found People call you young your entire life I tend to overlook that, Blinded in white light All these dark times Just rebuilding strength A life without questions Forging another path You really think It’s smarter to pretend You’re better now You’re better off Goin’ in deep to heal Dark edges You’re better now You’re better off Just burn it down Yeah cut your loss You’re better than You’re better than You’ve ever been You’ve ever been You’re better now You’re better off Just burn it down Yeah cut your loss You’re better than You’re better than You’ve ever been You’ve ever been

Long time All in vain Afraid I’ve fallen Out of grace If you see me in the club If you see me in the sky I walk on what used to be water Like Jesus I used to have power It’s a modern disaster It’s a total free fall Yet another chapter Nothin’ to see at all Motions set like plaster It’s all downhill from here As I hoped Some might say Think they call this feeling Outer space If you see me in the club If you see me in the sky I sink in what used to be water Thank Jesus I still have my power I’m a modern disaster On a total free fall Another closing chapter Lurches through the pink wall Potions free form faster Why the sense of urgent texture? Even fake flowers Lean to the sun for warmth I didn’t choose melodrama Melodrama chose me Full circle like a puppy chasing its tail I already feel like a ghost in your life It’s a modern disaster It’s a total free fall Another written chapter Nothin’ to see at all Motions set like plaster It’s all downhill from here Cities rose and fell on your skin That’s the whisper you hear On the edge of a cliff Death was an orange line At the end of the horizon We rely on a formula to survive On the edge of an abyss

One thing you’d always say “I do not trust the world” One word A slap in the face Don’t know if I can trust my self We are the future Can’t shake this Won’t be denied The people are shouting What we want That’s quite divine Hush money Sweetness Here come The hounds of bareback Hush money Sweet thing March onward Hounds of bareback I wear Desperation like a glove Take it off ’Cause I’m not in control United state of my aching heart The future is precarious Victim of circumstance The fear that sleeps with the most Sliding down my thigh Smokes cigs Won’t drink the water An ass crack between worlds Mayhem Don’t drink the water Hush money Sweetness Here come The hounds of bareback Hush money Sweet thing March onward Hounds of bareback I wear Desperation like a glove Take it off ’Cause I’m not in control Slide into reason Feeling dark Reeling backward Pretty Low ‘Cause I’m not in control Let it go ‘Cause I’m not in control Pretty low ‘Cause I’m not in control Just let it go We’re not in control

Why don’t you open up your heart? And show me who you really are Before we turn to dust Show me your bare bones I wanna see your true beauty Your true baby blue

about

There comes a time in every noise diva’s career to test the ropes in the waters of pop music. In 2018, Lucia Honey won a free stay at a hotel in Palm Springs. After pool time in the desert sun, she phoned a friend in Los Angeles to initiate an adventurous week of steep bike rides and experimental pop song writing in a basement garage

The project came to further fruition in Mexico City later that year and was solidified and recorded in the pandemic summer of 2020 during a yearlong music residency at The Embassy Studio located at New Orleans's Material Institute. Self Help is Lucia Honey’s fourth album as a solo artist and debut album published under her name
